Shaken Not Stirred!

Over a year ago now, on the evening of Monday March 7th a small group of avid clandestine cake clubbers met at the Brew Dog in Brighton. This was a special event as we were going to have a special guest appearing who was the photographer for Sussex Life magazine. The Brighton and Hove branch was to feature as a local club to join in a future issue so the photographer was invited along, and as an added bonus, got to sample all the cakes too!! As did much of the bar staff at Brew Dog – as always we had baked too much cake!! 

The theme for this event was Shaken not Stirred based on everyone’s favourite tipple. I amended my trustworthy Mary Berry Lemon drizzle cake to make a mojito cake. Jasmine brought along a stunning pina colada cake which looked spectacular. Joanna made a limoncello cake and finally Silvia made an orange, kirsch and alchermes cake. All of us and our fabulous cakes were there for all to see on page 161 of July’s edition of Sussex Life (I bought two copies!!) and hopefully encouraged a few more people to join in the cake fun!

    Cake making is my favourite! And this post gave me so many new ideas! It must have been a delicious day haha!

    We had some awesome cakes this day including an amazing mojito drizzle cake and pina colada cake!! In fact they were all scrumptious!
