52 Week New Year’s Challenge!!!!

Happy New Year Everyone!!!

So hands up who always makes the same New Years Resolutions year after year?? Lose weight….get fit…..do something exciting!! The list goes on but how many of us can honestly say we keep those resolutions? With that in mind for 2013 I have decided to make a resolution I am determined to keep! More a challenge for 2013 than a resolution and that is to bake something new once a week for the entire year of 2013! Taking into account my love for travelling and my Northampton Saints season ticket these 52 weekly challenges don’t need to be done in any chronological order but by New Year’s Eve 2013 I WILL have completed this challenge!!!

So there’s my challenge and here is my list – I poured over the numerous cookery books I appear to have collated over the last few years. Originally covering one section of one shelf they now cover three of their own shelves and grow seemingly on a monthly basis! I’ve tried to cover all the basics of baking ranging from Choux pastry to the classic cakes and have thrown in a few personal challenges like Florentines (try as I might I have yet to bake an edible florentine!!!). But now I’m stuck on my last three challenges – if there is anyone reading this out there – Any ideas please????

    What a fabulous idea Jo – your list includes several items that I haven't made so have decided to also rise to the challenge & enter unchartered waters.
    Hot water crust pastry is something I have avoided making for years & it's time that I pushed my fear to one side & just give it a go.

    Thanks fleurblanc! Should be an interesting year with all this baking and the more the merrier! I think it's the savoury ones that scare me most especially the beef Wellington!
