Our (Mis)Adventure to Dubrovnik!!

All journeys have secret destinations of which the traveler is unaware.
This Martin Buber quote was never more relevant than our recent trip to Dubrovnik in Croatia. Well I say Dubrovnik but actually we landed in nearby Split due to excessive turbulence preventing the plane from landing at Dubrovnik Airport. However our (mis)adventure begins way before then!

Marie Curie's Blooming Great Tea Party

In last week’s blog post I was reminiscing about an amazing afternoon tea I had at the Langham Hotel to celebrate my hen do. I love going for afternoon tea with the girls as it's a great way to catch up and relax, and who doesn't like eating cake!! So when I heard about Marie Curie’s upcoming fundraising campaign I had to tell you all about it as its right up my street.

An Opulent Afternoon Tea at the Langham

As it approaches my one year wedding anniversary I am starting to hit various memory points that all led up to my big day last June. This included my last dress fitting, my first hen do, my second hen, Robs Stag do, my final meal as a single Miss Reddin, my last night as Miss Reddin…..the list is endless!! Its nice to have so many memories throughout this month as it brings smile after smile to my face culminating in our wedding day which was just amazing! I only I wish I could remember more, have taken more of it in but it zoomed by in a flash. Remembering is made that bit easier nowadays with Facebook, Timehop and the like, reminding you of what you did and who you were with this day last year, two years, 10 years ago. Makes reliving memories that bit more automatic! I love my daily Facebook reminder of what fun I had. Last Monday Facebook, and numerous of my lovely friends, reminded me that it was a year to the day when I had met up with my university friends, a dear friend from secondary school, my mum, sisters and a close family friend. The destination was one of pure class and luxury - the Palm Court at the Langham Hotel, a stones throw away from Oxford Street.

Brighton Foodie Festival

Everyone loves the bank holiday don't they? Three day weekends should be standard in my opinion but this May Day bank holiday was the last day of my 18 days of annual leave which has been immensely relaxing and had a few adventures in the Adriatic. So I had to go back to work on a high and when, thanks to Food and Baker, I won two tickets to the Brighton Foodies Festival I knew it would be a perfect Bank Holiday for me!
